Meet Zachariah. He is 36 and lives in Grand Junction Colorado.

Zachariah is a normal guy; and adventurer, a hard worker, who loves life. In March 2012 Zachariah was diagnosed with Acute Mylogenous Leukemia. AML is a cancer of the blood cells, where instead of producing healthy myeloid cells, the bone marrow produces too many immature white cells. He immature cells crowd out the healthy blood cells and impair the blood’s function, affecting immunity, blood clotting and oxygen supply to the body. Zachariah, like most cancer sufferers, found the diagnosis overwhelming. He was lucky to have had the support of a friend who is a naturopathic doctor and who helped him to find Alternative Cancer Treatment Mexico.

Following two rounds of chemotherapy, the conventional treatment for Leukemia, in Colorado, Zachariah had not achieved remission. He was the second ever patient in his oncologist’s 25 year career to have failed to reach remission after induction therapy.

With the help of his naturopathic friend, Zachariah researched all of the alternative leukemia treatments that were available worldwide. They looked at therapy in Europe, and especially Germany. They found that, of all of the treatment options available, the Functional Oncology Program at Alternative Cancer Treatment Mexico appeared to meet all of his needs.

In the first telephone consultation, Dr. Perez spent 90 minutes on the phone with Zachariah, his naturopathic doctor friend and his Parents. Dr. Perez took the time to answer all of the questions that Zachariah and his family had, making sure they understood the processes involved in Functional Oncology.

At the end of May 2012 Zachariah flew out to Mexico to begin his Functional Oncology Program, in a bid to send his AML into remission. Zachariah described his admission to Hospital Angeles as a “smooth wonderful experience”, from his pick up from San Diego Airport, to the check in, saying that all of the staff were “wonderful and friendly”.

Once treatment had started, Zachariah still found his energy levels were relatively high. He was enjoying the food; a gluten free, dairy free diet that was modified by the nutritionist following every blood test to optimize cellular health and the behavior of healthy cells.

Zachariah experienced only mild side effects following a course of therapy, which included high doses of vitamin C, which has the ability to kill cancer cells, and Bio-immune Cellular therapy. The bio-immune therapy is not available in the US and involves extracting killer white blood cells, strengthening them and reintroducing them into the body, enabling them to attack cancer cells. Zachariah described the therapy as a whole to be a “walk in the park compared to chemotherapy”.

Compared to the destructive nature of chemotherapy, Zachariah was pleasantly surprised by the Functional Oncology Program. He even confessed it was the first time he had ever experienced sadness leaving a hospital!

With the help of the Team at Alternative Cancer Mexico, Zachariah has achieved remission. His commitment to the changes in lifestyle recommended by Dr. Perez and his team should help to keep Zachariah in remission, allowing him to put AML behind him and to continue living his life to the full.
