What is Essiac Tea?

Essiac is a herbal blend made of up of four herbs – burdock root, sheep sorrel herb, slippery elm bark and Turkish rhubarb root. Together these herbs are brewed into a hot drink or tea, and the special blend has been shown to help remove toxins and promote anticancer activity in the body. This powerful herbal teas is often used to support the battle against cancer.

History of Essiac

Essiac was discovered in the 1920’s by a Canadian Nurse, Rene Caisse. Nurse Caisse met cancer survivor who told her that she had survived breast cancer by taking a supplement of herbs she received from an Ontario Native American medicine man.

Nurse Caisse was inspired by this story and went on to use the Essiac Tea to treat her own aunt who was battling cancer. Not only did Caisse’s aunt survive the cancer, but she went on to live another 21 years following treatment.

Seeing the success of the tea, Nurse Caisse opened her own clinic where she administered the Essiac tea to patients suffering from all types of cancer with much success. The Essiac blend became known for its cancer fighting ability and it was named Essiac – Caisse backwards.  Rene Caisse opened her own clinic and administered Essiac tea to people suffering from various types of cancer, completely free of charge.
