Immunotherapy focuses on helping the body to actually cure cancer. The investigation is based around a new technology that focuses on T-cell receptors, the protein that allows T-cells to bind to threats, in this case cancer. By reprogramming T-cells to better identify and effectively destroy cancer cells, researchers believe that they will, in the future, be able to manipulate a cancer patient’s own immune system to beat cancer.
