Also called infiltrating ductal carcinoma and ductal carcinoma

Invasive Ductal Carcinoma is the most common breast cancer in America, accounting for around 80% of breast cancer diagnoses in America. In a patient with IDC, the cells inside some of their milk ducts (the ductal pipes) have started to mutate into cancer cells. Although a woman of any age can develop IDC , 2/3 of IDC diagnoses are in women aged over 55. At Alternative Cancer Treatment Mexico we offer conventional and alternative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma treatment (IDC).

The term “Invasive” means that the cancer has started to invade the tissue surrounding the breast. If untreated, the cancer in IDC patients can spread to the lymph nodes under the arms, allowing the disease access to other parts of the body and causing it to spread.

IDC is often classified as having no particular type. A special type of cancer has distinguishing features that can be seen under the microscope, allowing them to be further classified. Lobular breast cancer and some rare types of breast cancer are considered to be special types and are treated accordingly.

The subtypes of IDC include medullary carcinoma, mucinous carcinoma, tubular carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma, where the behavior of the cancer cells is slightly different to the usual behavior of invasive ductal carcinoma, so treatment needs to be altered accordingly.

At Alternative Cancer Treatment Mexico we treat the patient and the disease.
