We are constantly being bombarded with new information in the media about what foods we should and should not eat to prevent serious illnesses such as cancer. Fox news have done it again but this time they went on a grocery trip to give a clear overview of exactly what we are to eat to achieve optimum health, an initiative that is part of their partnership with the Little Red Door Cancer Agency.

Kim Galeaz, who is a registered dietitian and Kroger consultant, simplifies things by saying the foods that prevent cancer are the same as the foods we are commonly advised to eat for overall health. These include fruit, vegetables, lean meats, and low or fat free diary products.

“You don’t want too much sodium. You don’t want too much sugar. You don’t want too much alcohol. You really need to focus first on all these nutrient rich foods, then add all of these in,” Galeaz said.
